The Ride In
One of the best loved features of Chinnor Bike Dayz is the marshaled ride-in on the Saturday morning. The ride visits the surrounding towns of Thame, Chinnor and Princes Risborough where the locals line the streets to wave us past.
The ride starts at the site where anyone who wants to join us gathers near the main gate and at 10am we leave for Thame Services where we can have a chat about the ride and grab a quick coffee. Other bikers join us at the Services and after the ride, will stay at the event to enjoy the rest of the weekend with us.
At 11am we leave Thame Services, riding through Thame town centre then out into the picturesque Oxfordshire countryside to the original venue for the Rally – the village of Chinnor.
The ride holds a very special place in the hearts of the Chinnor residents who look forward to us coming through the village every year. We proceed up Bledlow Ridge and through Princes Risborough town centre before heading back to the site.
When we reach the site at midday, participants are welcome to park their bikes in the main arena ready for the judging of the bike show, just look for the marshals who will guide you in.
